General Romeo Browder Jr. had also said in an interview given recently that the Philippines Navy is going to get the first batch of BrahMos.

But currently only three batteries are going to be available which according to General Browder will not be sufficient considering the requirement. He says that that is why the Philippines Army is also thinking of purchasing BrahMos missiles.

The Army Chief says that along with the Philippines Navy, the Army will also soon be equipped with these missiles and the security of the coastal borders will be better.

According to the Philippines Army Chief, the proposal to acquire BrahMos very soon is on the way to being passed. General Browder says that these missiles will be deployed at a certain distance on the coastal borders so that the entire coastline can be secured.

It is noteworthy that even before these statements of the General, Philippines Defense Department Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. had said that the consignment of BrahMos for the Philippines Navy would arrive by the end of this year.

Let us tell you here that BrahMos cruise missile can be fired from ship, airplane, submarine or land. Its maximum speed is about 3,400 km per hour and it can carry weapons weighing up to 200-300 kg. These features make it the only missile of its kind in the world.
