Union Minister Anurag Thakur said during the cabinet briefing that now the subsidy of Rs 200 to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has been increased by Rs 100 to Rs 300. Now the sisters of Ujjwala beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs 300.

Ujjwala beneficiaries: Union Minister Anurag Thakur
Describing the details of the decision of the Modi cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the price of gas cylinder was reduced by Rs 200. From today, the subsidy for the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme is being increased from Rs 200 to Rs 300. Sisters who are Ujjwala beneficiaries will now get a subsidy of Rs 300.
He further said that Ujjwala scheme has made a huge contribution in the lives of women. Therefore, now subsidy of Rs 300 will be available instead of Rs 200.
Let us tell you that earlier under the Ujjwala scheme, the Ujjwala beneficiary sisters used to get a subsidy of Rs 200 in one cylinder. But today Modi cabinet decided to increase the subsidy.
Approval for formation of Central Turmeric Board
Anurag Thakur further said that India is the largest producer and consumer of turmeric. A target of export of turmeric has been set at Rs 8400 crore. For this, the formation of Central Turmeric Board has been approved.
2400 crores will be spent to complete the North Coal Project. Aurangabad in Bihar, Gaya, Garhwa and Palamu in Jharkhand will benefit from this.
Now how much is a cylinder?
Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana currently pay Rs 703 for a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder, while its market price is Rs 903.
Because the Central Government has announced a subsidy of Rs 300, after the decision of the Union Cabinet, the Ujjwala beneficiaries scheme will get an LPG cylinder for Rs 603.
What happened in the last meeting?
Let us tell you that in the last cabinet meeting, the Modi government had approved the release of Rs 1,650 crore to government petroleum companies to provide 75 lakh new LPG connections to women in three years under the ‘Pradhanmantri Ujjwala Yojana’.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur informed about this decision taken in the Union Cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Anurag Thakur had said in the press briefing that the Cabinet agreed to provide 75 lakh new LPG connections in three years till the financial year 2025-26 under the Ujjwala scheme.
With this, the total number of women benefiting under this Ujjwala beneficiaries scheme will increase to 10.35 crore.
